Why do it?
U*do*IT allows you to get creative. Instead
of being at the mercy of Mary Ann's artwork, you can send gramma a picture
of your new baby....Send the Ricky Martin fan club a pic and one of his
songs.....Send your book club a picture of that new recipe and all the
secrets to making it. Any image and midi on the WWW can now be an original
card, made by you!
How to do it.
It's easy! Just type the address of the
picture you want to use in the space provided. Picture addresses must be
from the web, not from the hard drive on your own computer
eg: http://www.hugkiss.com/rickymartin.jpg
.....*note that the full address is used and it ends in either .jpg or
.gif
Type in the address of the song you want
to send (or leave it blank for no music)
eg: http://www.hugkiss.com/livinlavidaloca.mid
.....*note that you can only put midi files here and they will always end
in .mid
Scroll down to see examples and some hints and
tips.
Here are examples of the cards you can
send (no music)
1 unbaked pie shell 6 cups sliced apples 3/4 cup sugar 1 teasp. cinnamon 1 cup flour 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup butter or margarine mix apples with the sugar and cinnamon. Pile
in the pie shell. Mix flour, brown sugar and butter. Press this topping
on top of the apples. Bake at 375 degrees for 35--40 minutes.

Finding a song.
We recommend starting with your favorite
search engine. Here's the Yahoo
page that'll give you tons of midi file locations. Just copy the address
of the midi. To do that, highlight the address and hit your "ctrl" and
"c" keys at the same time (that copies), click on the song line on the
card page and click "ctrl" and "v" to paste the address there.
Finding a picture.
If you want to send a picture from your
hard drive, you'll have to put it on a web page on the net first.
If you've never made a web page before,
we recommend Homestead, it's so
easy even your kids can make wonderful web pages on their own. Just
copy the address of the picture. To do that, highlight the address and
hit your "ctrl" and "c" keys at the same time (that copies), click on the
image line on the card page and click "ctrl" and "v" to paste the address
there.
You can also right click on any image...that
will bring up a box....click "copy image location" and then click on the
image line on the card page and click "ctrl" and "v" to paste the address
there.
